Fantasy Premier League Tips – Who Should You Captain In FPL GW30?
It’s almost time for GW30 of the Premier League and if you’re reading this article then you’re probably in that weekly predicament of who to captain in Fantasy Premier League.
This week, as usual, we took to Twitter (@DFFBET) to allow you guys to cast your votes for who makes the best captaincy pick this coming weekend. As Twitter only allows 4 choices in a poll, we narrowed it down to the following options:
- Dele Alli (Bur v SPURS) – 19%
Diego Costa (CHE v Pal) – 56%
- Eden Hazard (CHE v Pal) – 13%
- Alexis Sanchez (ARS v City) – 12%
So, who should you captain in FPL this weekend?
According to you guys, Diego Costa is the man for the armband in GW30… getting 56% of the votes!
With 17 goals and 7 assists so far in the Premier League this campaign, Costa has been one of the division’s star performers and has remained consistent throughout.
In GW30, top of the table Chelsea host struggling Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge, and despite the visitors’ recent upswing in performances, we’d still expect the league-leaders to get all 3 points.
If Chelsea, do score, Costa is likely to be involved in one way or another – in fact, there has been only 1 home game this season where the Spaniard hasn’t contributed a goal or an assist at least. This makes him a super safe Fantasy Premier League tip for the coming weekend, and quite clearly our readers agree!
What are the alternatives?
If you do not have Diego Costa or are not confident in his points-gains this weekend, then Dele Ali looks like another decent captaincy tip – although he does represent somewhat of a gamble considering that Tottenham are playing away at Burnley this weekend.
Burnley have been strong at home, however in the absence of Harry Kane, Alli will be expected to shoulder some of their goalscoring responsibility… even more so than usual. This might lead to him playing in a more advanced role on Saturday.
With 14 goals and 6 Premier League assists to his name this season, Alli has been one of the standout midfielders in the division. His recent form is also excellent, having netted a goal in each of his last 3 matches.
You can draft him for just £8.9m – a very prudent pick given Spurs’ enviable fixture list.
That concludes the results of our @DFFBET Twitter poll for who you should captain in Fantasy Premier League this week!
